OUR WORK

about cumbria gardens

Our work at Cumbria Gardens we cover a wide range of garden designs, from formal to natural planting.

We do:

~ Large garden work

~ Small garden work

~ Garden Design

~ Landscaping

~ Garden Maintenance

~ and much more....

The workforce is made up of a small, but highly efficient group of individuals who work well together creating and maintaining the grounds of properties large and not so large.  We have a garden designer and plants man (myself) and two other highly skilled gardeners and also a general builder who lays patios etc. and builds all sorts of hard landscape features:  walls, arches, paths and stairways to name but a few.

Each team member has their own particular strengths and skills. One member of the team has proved himself at dry stone walling, and another at creative stone work. John's own speciality and interest is the construction of water gardens, and Japanese landscape.

Everyone who works for us has one main aim: total customer satisfaction

Water gardening is a large part of our work with the emphasis on environmental issues - for example, the creation of pools of all sizes for the benefit of wildlife. Whenever possible we try to design our water features with wildlife in mind, creating a point of easy access for frogs, newts, and a host of other small creatures.

Wildlife ponds do not have to be enormous. A pool only 1 metre wide and 30cm deep will attract a wide range of animals. A Cumbria Garden "wildlife" pool is always planted with native species, and no fish are introduced.  Wildlife pools are of great educational value to children..
